Gonna try this crossposting thing from DW. Wooh!

I wrote myself a layout for my DW journal--or, rather, simply rewrote the one I'm using on LJ. I used the Transmogrified theme and simply wrote a new style sheet from scratch. If anyone wants the style sheet, or the stripped-down source code, drop me a comment.

I have nothing else of interest to say. Except that the default comment-page layout on DW is really, really fugly, but this layout doesn't work with a customized comment-page. I shall have to fiddle. Not tonight, though, I still owe Sparta 500 words of writing.

ETA: I've decided to disable comments on DW for now, at least until I have sorted this journal out properly. It's really just so I can have all my comments in one place. If you'd like to comment, please do so on LiveJournal.

It's 7:30 am and I am SO AWAKE OMG. I spent all night writing a website for a uni assignment. I shouldn't have that much fun writing a website for people I don't know about a topic that doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'm a geek. *pushes glasses up nose*

I wrote myself a new layout. Apparently, I seem to have different color settings than everyone else, because people are telling me that it's an invisible layout. I changed my layout (again - I told you the psychedelic LoM one wouldn't be staying long ;) ). It's not fannish, except that it sort of has the LoM colors. But there are elephants! It looks shitty in IE (not messed up, just shitty, because IE is stupid).

So I hear that House Bigbang is now online and everything. It makes me sort of sad that I feel so little excitement about this, but eh. I'll probably crave House fic at some point in the future, and when that time comes around, I'll have loads to read :D.

I rewrote my homepage, because the javascript setup with the 6 different skins was getting completely unmanagable.

In other news, I have a vid bunny for an angsty Gene POV Sam/Gene plus unrequited Gene/Alex post-LoM A2A character death vid. Lol, try saying that three times fast. The song is Badge by Cream (Eric Clapton's band in the 60ies), and it's the most awesome song ever, except that the youTube vid has really crappy quality and you probably won't hear much.

I'd love to start vidding RIGHT NOW, because it's all there in my head, but I haven't ripped all LoM episodes yet, and I think my A2A episodes have a different resolution than my LoM ones. Fail. Also, I'll have to convert everything a second time to make Sony Vegas play it. Oh, how I hate hate hate all these vidding inconveniences. Why can't they make a vid prog that does all the things I want, and not only everything except this one tiny but really important one?

In conclusion, woe is me.

It's probably not going to stay long. The colors drive me CRAZY. But then, it makes me laugh every time I look at it, and laughing is good, right?

Yes, I know, not entirely new. I liked the looks better with the House header, but House isn't really fitting for my journal at the moment. I might try and make the LoM header less fugly when I've had something to eat.

Lulz, the laptop hates all the transparent .png graphics. Fail, graphic card, fail.

Earlier today, I went looking for an off-LJ LoM fic archive, and discovered that there is none. Woes! Since I love archives, and especially love running them, I got myself the eFiction software and set this up.

The next step would be now posting to lifein1973 and letting people know about it, but when I wrote to one of the mods earlier to ask whether I could use the Cortina rating system, they told me that a while back, somebody apparently already mentioned plans to set up an archive. I wrote that somebody an email, too, but they haven't answered yet. How dare they not check their email on Easter Sunday!

So, the point of this post is actually just to show off my shiny layout. Isn't it pretty?

In other news, I took the IELTS today, and I think I did reasonably well. I am very, very tired now, but I don't want to go to bed yet. My sister comes home tomorrow, and while I love her dearly, I would love her even more dearly if she stayed at my parents' for another week. I like having the place to myself.

Urgh, so Dothost just crapped out on me.

That's where I host my homepage. It's a free host with php options and everything and only one google ad, and it's been up and running for so long, I've always thought it was a bit dodgy. But hey, it's a free host that supports php, what more do I want.

Now it went and deleted my homepages, both my personal one and my Enterprise archive. I'm not crying for the ENT archive because I was thinking about deleting that anyway, and I have a backup of my homepage, so that's not all that tragic either.

HOWEVER. I was hosting a couple of images for my journal layout on Dothost, which got deleted, too, of course. I still had them on my HD, so I uploaded them to LJ and replaced the links. No sweat. However, for some reason Firefox didn't want to display the ornament in the background of the entries anymore without putting a big ugly dark blue border around it. Meh. I put it on a background rather than a transparent layer now, but of course, it's a bit out of alignment and you can see the transitions, which drives me bugshit. I'll have to poke this some more.

Knowing me, though, I'll end up with a completely new journal layout. Meh. Fuck you, Dothost.

ETA: I think I fixed it. It's still fucking with me, but only sporadically, and I'm beginning to suspect it's my crappy graphics card and not the layout. Hopefully.

I had the brilliant and extremely belated idea to put my LJ layouts up on my homepage together with all my other fannish projects. In the process of gathering all the layouts together, I realized I've written a total of 13 journal layouts.

I rewrote the layout IE screwed up yesterday. I put so much fucking effort into this layout that I can't not use it as my LJ layout now. This is why I have a new layout. You can view it in IE, it doesn't look really perfect in IE, but nothing is overlapping, and anyway, I don't support IE ANYWAYS!! *sulks*

Can anyone think of a clever icon caption for my default icon? I suck so much at icon captions.

Anyway, I think I like this layout! It's not as straightforward as my old one, and I might get annoyed with it quicker, but I needed a change :).

I'm pissed. I spent all day writing ( this ) layout, and it looks very pretty in Firefox, but IE screws it up so badly I won't be able to fix it. Gah. Die, IE, die.

I went and cleaned out my f-list. Not because it needed cleaning, but because I was feeling evil. If I cut you and you think it weird, please comment. I mainly cleaned communities from my f-list, though, one of them being house_wilson. One more post about Sims, and I'm seriously going to kill somebody. (Oh! No! Wait! We now have a Sims community, housesims! Just what the fandom needed. Argh.)

Anyway. I might wake up tomorrow and feel all mellow again and put h_w back on my list. But not tonight.
