Pairing Songs

It's a time-honored fandom tradition to connect your favorite songs to your favorite pairings, whether the two fit together or not. I do it all the time; it's rare that I listen to a new song without trying to somehow fit it into my fandom shipper world. I always feel that these associations are best kept to oneself--pretty much any song can be interpreted from any pairing's perspective, and a lot of the time, the connection is so obscure that it becomes redundant to anyone but the individual making it.

However. (You knew there was one coming, didn't you?) Over the years, I've come across a handful of songs that, I feel, actually do fit a certain pairing or character in more than an entirely subjective way. Songs like that usually end up on my list of "vids I should make at some point". Vids, however, are a lot of work, and I'm lazy, so you're not getting vids, you're just getting the songs, and my thoughts on why they remind me of the character or pairing I listed them under.

Lots of YouTube videos under the cut. )

Long entry is long! Hope you found it at least a little bit interesting. Feel free to link me to your favorite character/pairing songs in the comments! :)

Guys, I've got some boy kissing for you!

Ben Browder and Michael Shanks )

I got linked to that pic, and apparently it was posted here as well, but I don't know where exactly it took its origin on the net. Thank you, Helene of the Green Water Mark, for taking that pic, it's extremly awesome. :D

That ComiCon must have been something. I wish I could have been there. *cries a sad emo tear of loneliness*

ETA: Oooh. I was just walking past the bookstore (I had to nip over to the post office to send something off), and they had the new-ish King Duma Key in paperback. :D *cue excited dolphin noises*

Over the last three days, all in all I've spent more than seven hours driving on the German Autobahn. Which means I had a lot of time to think about what makes the German Autobahn so infamous.

Wanna hear? )

I've also watched the new episodes of

Stargate: SG-1 )

Supernatural )

House )

Yeah, I know, my LJ shouldn't consist solely of entries about a TV show - talk about hanging on to the real life and everything - but since at the moment, real life presents me with nothing but frustration and failed exams, I'll stick to the fictional world(s) for now.

Only read this if you have absolutely, and I mean *absolutely*, nothing else to do - and if you don't mind spoilers (up to 10x02) )

SG-1 Season 6

Oh my God, they killed Daniel. Again...

Well, ascended him. I knew this was gonna happen, but still...

I think am going to skip season 6. I read the episode summaries, and I think I'm gonna watch 6x06, but the prospect of 20 Daniel-lacking SG-1 eps... nah, not really appealing.

Is it good? Season 6, I mean. Should I watch it? Will I miss great scenes if I skip it?

Blew my histology exam today.

And I've started on season 3 of SG-1.

I'm not sure, but I think I might be thinking about starting to have doubts about my choice of career.

Since SGA seems to have gone on a mid-season break (just my luck, getting myself hooked on a live series which goes on break the minute I'm done catching up with the episodes), I started on SG-1.

My thoughts on SG-1 )
