I'm off to London to pick up Jasper, and will then be in Germany over the weekend. Jasper's staying till the 18th, so I might be sparse. Don't break the internets while I'm gone! ;)

(I'm only taking the netbook to Germany. Four days on the netbook. I'll be fine, right? Right??)

Summer Plans

Soo . . . I've not been around much. I was filming all last week, and in the studio all of this week. But both project are wrapped up now--the filming went alright-ish, the studio thing went really well--and I have only one essay left to write, and then I'll be done with uni for this year. Hurrah!

Which means I've got time to kill until September 26, which is the last day of my summer break. I've been looking for jobs, and applied to several.

Relatively boring job babble. )

Hi, that was really boring. I just needed to sort out my thoughts on this, sorry. How is everybody?

Spoilers. )

Also, I am back in the UK! Arrived about four hours ago. The kitchen is a mess. I hope the roommate will clean that up tomorrow.

More traveling!

Getting on a bus to Philly now. US Airways says my flight is leaving as scheduled. They are also saying that this might change during the course of the day. It's like playing Russian roulette!

If the plane actually goes out, I'll be arriving in Munich tomorrow 8:50 am GMT+1. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Travel Chaos

So I'm supposed to be flying back to Europe tomorrow. I actually doubt that it's going to happen, because my destination airport, Munich, operated no more than 15 flights yesterday, and their website said it's not going to be much better today or tomorrow. But we'll see. Apparently, they're letting planes sneak in low under the ash, which sounds like a really bad idea, but hey, if my plane actually leaves tomorrow, I'll be on it. I need to get back at some point.

If that flight isn't going out, I'm not sure what I'll do. All the flights to the open international airports in Europe--mainly, Madrid and Barcelona--are $4,000 upwards, and I seriously don't have that kind of money. I really need to get back to the UK, though, because I have a short movie to film and a bunch of deadlines to meet.

Worst case scenario, I'll pay $1,000 for a boat to get me back to Southampton. There are transatlantic cruise lines from New York to Southampton that start at $1,000, which, all things considered, will probably end up being the cheapest option if my flight tomorrow will actually get canceled.

I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to get from Munich to London, but hey, that's Europe. I can always hitchhike.

More rambling about travel and things. )

Anyway. I'll keep you guys updated about my travel status. Whether you're interested or not. ;)

Actually Stranded Now

Ahahaha you guys were all right. I am stuck in the US. My flight was canceled, and the next one I can get leaves on the 21st. Not that I am particularly heartbroken about that. But it's sort of inconvenient, since my term starts on the 19th. Oh well. Right now, I'll be catching a bus back down to DC.

But I'm fine, just had a wasted trip to NYC. Which I had already paid for, so I'm not losing any money either. Also, a few more days with [livejournal.com profile] mind_the_tardis. \o/

Stranded, sort of.

I got on my bus at 7:15 am. About five minutes after we left, the bus broke down. Now I'm sitting here somewhere in DC, waiting for another bus to show up.

It's about 8 am now, and I've got a flight to catch. I don't really want to leave the US, but I don't want to have to pay for a new flight ticket, either.

Sigh.

ETA: The new bus came! Now waiting for it to finally leave. We're an hour behind schedule; I should be fine. I scheduled with a lot of leeway, time-wise.

Hi all! I live. America and [livejournal.com profile] mind_the_tardis are keeping me busy. But in a good way.

Bullet points under the cut. )

It's not exactly a very touristy vacation, this trip, but it is relaxing. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] alex51324, let me know when meeting up would be most convenient for you? I'm very flexible; I really only have plans tomorrow and Friday night so far.

Hello LiveJournal. I am on a bus, which is sitting outside of Penn Station, New York, and about to depart for Washington DC. I am also very, very tired. In a happy way, though.

I don't have anything else to do, so you're getting an account of my day. )

. . . I will sign off now and try and get some sleep. Sorry for the incoherent ramble. Feel more than free to skip. The gist of it is really, I'm in the US and I will get to see my girlfriend in about four hours, which are both good things. Good-night, everyone.
