Time of the Angels
FINALLY. I enjoyed this one. Not unequivocally, but it was a good episode, with some good lines and nice character scenes and actions, it had a coherent plot and didn't make me fall asleep. I am liking Eleven, and am even starting to like Amy. Although they should give her something to wear that's appropriate for climbing around in a cave.
The intercom thing was rather reminiscent of the Library episodes. The entire episode was, really. Which is fitting, I guess, since it was a River episode. I still don't know what to think of River. I dislike that they're pushing the wife thing quite so much, but we'll see where that will go. At points in the episode, I did get a little bored--he likes his suspension scenes, Moffat does, but he always drags them out for a little bit too long, past the point of OMG SUSPENSION to well, are you maybe going to do something about this now? But hey, that's a minor complaint.
I guess my biggest problem in this episode was the fact that River could fly the TARDIS. Only the Doctor can fly the TARDIS, dammit, because he has a mental connection with her, and humans wouldn't even be able to get her off the ground. Sadly, this is my fanon, not canon. It totally should be canon, though.
I really need to get myself an Eleven icon. I like the guy.
Also, I am back in the UK! Arrived about four hours ago. The kitchen is a mess. I hope the roommate will clean that up tomorrow.
