I sat down at 2am last night to write my essay. I was done at 8, and really, essay writing is a lot easier than people make it sound. Considering that I hadn't done any research at all beforehand and didn't really have a clue what to write about the given topic, I'm thinking 6 hours for 2000 words is not so bad.

What peeves me a lot more is the referencing. Seriously, can't I just put the page number in brackets behind my quote? Why does it have to be an artwork of punctuation, and if I get it wrong, I'll get points taken away? That's just silly.

Yesterday (or, you know, technically today, but 'before I last went to bed'), just when I was done writing the essay, my internet up and croaked. I didn't mind too much, because I was planning to go to bed anyway. However, when I woke up this morning (or, you know, noon, but whatever), the internet was still broken. I was blaming my dodgy network port, but when fiddling with that didn't do anything, I resignedly crawled out of bed to trudge half-way across town to buy a new PCMCIA network card. However, when I passed the reception downstairs, I spotted a note that said that apparently, the Halls internet is generally broken.

Meh. That's yay on the one hand because I won't have to spend another fifteen pounds on a new network card. It's nay on the other because DNW my place to be without internet. Can I move into my flat now and be my own network admin again?

Anyway, I went back upstairs, planning to get breakfast. When I came into the kitchen, the fridge door was detached from the fridge and haphazardly leaning against it. No, seriously. I have no idea what happened. We already have a new fridge, though. Still. Fess up, guys, who ripped the door off the fridge?

I'm in the library now. I have class from 5pm - 9pm, and I'm hoping they will have fixed whatever is wrong with Halls network by then. Gah, I can't wait to move out of there. It's not exactly a bad place to live, the limited independence is just so annoying.
