Remember how I have a place in the student residences? And how they took forever to let me know the earliest date I could move in? And how I then finally, after I'd long sent off my residence application, got a second application form on which it said that student accommodation will be available from the 15th?
When you're one of the people who used the first application form, you had no way of telling them on which day you're moving in. Apparently, this means that they randomly pick a day in the week between the 15th and the 20th to clean out your room. My room won't be available till the 18th. My flight, however, is booked for the 15th.
I called the accommodations office. Got a guy who first put me on hold and then accidentally connected me to the switchboard. The switchboard lady was all 'oh, just a sec, I'll reconnect you! :D' and hung up. I called again and got a woman who also put me on hold, but then told me that I would have to contact Mister I-didn't-catch-the-name about this, and she'll tell him to send me an email.
Proper organization, let me show you it!

Disclaimer: The Life on Mars 'verse doesn't belong to me.
AN: This was written for the Life on Mars Fic Exchange. My assignment was "Gene/Nelson, slash or just bonding, sap-free". The fic is a filler for 1x02 - it fits in between Sam fleeing the Railway Arms to avoid the wrath of Gene and Sam and Gene meeting in the hospital to have it out.
Dear Recipient, thank you for giving me a Gene/Nelson prompt! I hope you'll enjoy what I came up with.

Other than that, I'm sorry I've been so quiet as far as commenting is concerned. Between moving and packing and trying to get the faily accommodation office to talk to me, I somehow don't seem to have any time left. I actually forgot that the LoM ficathon deadline was today! Anyway, I hope this will change once I'm in England.
