Tutorial
Today, I wrote a shiny new layout for
tli - she created a comm for her writing/artwork, and asked me for a layout. Click ::here:: to see it.
Writing the layout reminded me of a tutorial I started to write a few weeks ago. It's a step-by-step tutorial for writing customized styles for LJ accounts based on the Smooth Sailing style (the style I base all my layouts on). I wanted to write it in a way so complete html newbies and css masters alike could profit from it. It's already rather longish - complete with a short introduction to html and css - and it'll probably be another few weeks before I'm done.
I'll probably finish it anyway, because it's a chance of telling people how to do stuff, and telling people how to do stuff is always fun ^^, but I wanted to ask whether anybody is even interested in a tutorial like that. If there are people who would like to read it, I might pick up the writing pace a little ^^.
Also, if there's anybody out there who would like a shiny layout for their journal - leave a comment. Or if you want a website. I love writing websites, too. I'm not brilliant, and all I can do is html and css, but I like to think I'm not all bad at that.
I can't guarantee that I would get around to writing your layout/website immediately, especially if more than one or two people will be responding to this asking for a layout. However, I do spend a lot of time on procrastinating, and writing code is a wonderful method of procrastination. So I would probably get around to writing your layout more sooner than later ;).

I am using flexible squares but I wouldn't mind having a go at smooth sailing. It looks funky xD

I've used both Flexible Squares and Smooth Sailing, and while FS looks better than SmS in default, SmS gives you even more freedom to customize. Just about *anything* is a class ^^.
I'm working on that tutorial. However, all you'll probably get out of it is a commented html-sourcecode and a css-file with all the classes listed. I'm writing it for people who have no or only very little knowledge about html and/or css :).
Yay for fun vacation :)! *wants vacation too* ;P
