Meme!
Booh! I have another meme! One of those creepy manipulative make-people-tell-you-things-about-themselves one. Just that this one works the other way 'round ;).
If you comment, I'll...
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something. A fandom, a song, a colour, a piece of fruit. SOMETHING.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Associate you with a character/pairing.
6. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. (Or else I'll just ask a random question. I reserve that right.)
7. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
8. In return, you must spread this disease in your LJ.
(if you want, you can ignore #8 - unless, of course, you're worried the Meme Stasi might get you ;) )
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. If you're so inclined, post this meme exercise on your own LJ and be surprised (or mortified!) about what people remember about you.

Your story Alone entirely blew me away. It was at that stage that I started stalking your journal.... ;-)
no subject
You stalked my journal? *goes back to see whether there were any particularly revealing or embarrassing entries* ;)
On to the meme!
1) I friended you because I had very much enjoyed the conversations we'd had up to that point, and because I love your sense of humor and didn't want to miss out of any of your H/W goodies ;).
2) Given your username... a little pink piggy (suffering from a case of chronic cheerfulness ;) ).
3) One of the things I like about you is that you seem to be enjoying life and getting the most out of it, but without lecturing other people that they should do the same.
4) I remember how happy your comment on "Alone" made me, because I had read your fics, and had liked them very much, and it always means a lot to get positive feedback from authors who have written wonderful fiction themselves.
5) I associate you with Wilson. I love the way you write Wilson in your fics :).
6) What do you do for a living?
7) Oh God, I'll never be able to decide. They're all so very cool. I was about to say "tie between the bathroom icon and Wilsie Love", but then I remembered the OMGsqueeWILSONLASEREYES! I think I'm gonna go with that one, even though it's totally unfair to the bathroom icon, because that one makes me giggle every time I look at it.
no subject
Oooh, thank you! *melts with happiness*
#6 I'm a lawyer :)
#7 I have to confess that WilsonLaserEyes isn't mine :) I just have it in my icons to drool at from time to time. I think [Unknown site tag] made it.
I forgot to put the meme on my page!
*trots off to fix that now*

You're a lawyer? Cool! That means I can come to you if I need a law beta?? ;) (I totally suck at writing court scenes. Anything to do with law makes me want to hide under a very low table. I've discarded countless pot bunnies because they involved court scenes ^^).
^^ Okay, so of the icons you made, the bathroom one is my favorite. It does come very close to the Wilson Laser Eyes anyway ;).
no subject
I wanted to say plot bunnies, of course ;).

law beta
I can try :) I reckon it's significantly different over there, though.
Anything to do with law makes me want to hide under a very low table.
Me too, increasingly! I think I'd like to become a professional reader of Housefics instead!
Thanks for your kind comments re: my bathroom icon :) The idea of them living happily ever in the bathroom makes me laugh!
no subject
Lol, together with the occasional Vicodin pill House dropped in Wilson's office ;).
I'd like to become a professional reader of Housefics instead!
Me too! We should get an office "Housepiglet & T'eyla - We tell you where to get your next fics" ^^.
The idea of them living happily ever in the bathroom makes me laugh!
Yeah, me too - I imagine them camping out in front of the toilet stalls and lighting up a campfire on the tiles when maintenance turns off the lights... (and getting soaked by the sprinkler fire protection system... ;) ).

Great idea! :)
*goes off to research it*

I forgot to thank you for that! *is happy* :)

Meme:
1) I friended you because you're funny, just as much of a House-lunatic as I am, and I enjoy talking to you.
2) I associate you with, hmm... is it too weird when I say I associate you with a Twister board?
3) I like that you're unconventional. It doesn't get boring with you around.
4) It's not exactly a specific memory - but you'll always stay in my memory as the person who invented the term Laurie-Land ;).
5) Hugh Laurie. Straight on.
6) Hmm. When you chose your course of study, did you consider any alternatives?
7) Mr. Vicodin!!
no subject
--- yeah actually I did, first I wanted to be a "Restauratorin" because I like working with my hands, but I was to lazy to make a folder with artworks and stuff, so I chose the easier option. During the last couple years or so, I've been thinking about, how grreat it would be to work in the film-industry. Not in front of camera, though, but something in the crew, like models, costumes... stuff like that. Maybe I'll follow that up, once I finished my studies... :-)
I have to say, I've never been associated with a Twister board, but I really like the idea!! Thanks!
#5- Do you mean House or Hugh?? anyway, thank you sooo much... :-) (even if it sounds stupid or arrogant, which it isn't meant to be, but I actually see a lot of myself in House, I guess that's why I like the show so much.)
no subject
Hugh. And I know what you mean with seeing yourself in House - I feel a little like that, too. I'm not as smart as he is, and I'm not as witty (and I'm not as anti-social ;) ), but the way his mind works has a lot in common with the way my mind works.

Heh, I can imagine ;).
I'm witty when I write. I can be spontaneously witty when I write, too, but not when I talk. When I talk, I'm usually more random than witty ;).

Action figures on the beach. 'Nuff said ;)

More than enough ;). Is Travis' leg still bothering him?
Meme:
1) I friended you because you're a friend. ;)
2) You're a DS9 person. I associate you with DS9 (the little I know about it ;) ).
3) Among many other things, I enjoy the way I can have completely hypothetical and cracky conversations with you that never get boring.
4) No teeth! You still owe me that one ;). Oh yeah, and the Retribution email wars ;).
5) Sorry, I know you're gonna hate me for this, but I can't not associate you with T/R. You're the person who got me into that pairing!
6) Hm. I guess I'll go with the random question. If you could ask your favorite author for your perfect fanfic, which fandom would that be, which pairing, what would it be about and who's the author?
7) Oh, hard. Hard. I like your Sheppard "cleverly disguised" icon. But I think I'm gonna go with the Wilsie hug! ;)
no subject
Um... I don't know? He's in a box in the garage somewhere, I think. He's hibernating ;)
completely hypothetical and cracky conversations with you that never get boring.
No teeth ;)
4) No teeth! You still owe me that one
Very true. Think you can wait until after my essay deadlines?? ;)
If you could ask your favorite author for your perfect fanfic, which fandom would that be, which pairing, what would it be about and who's the author?
Oh, bugger. I can think of the 'perfect fanfic' for most of the fandoms I read. Trouble is I don't have an absolute favourite author in each of those fandoms. And most of the fics I'd like to see written are usually detailed plotlines that I know I'm never going to write myself.
I could tell you just about everything but the author, though ;)
SGA - McKay/Lorne - Sheppard/Weir/Team start giving Rodney the cold shoulder after 'Trinity', forcing him to turn elsewhere for company. He helps Halling and the Athosians on the mainland build a Roman-style irrigation system, and starts hanging out with Lorne and Heightmeyer in Atlantis, becoming slightly confused when both seem to be flirting with him. Harvest time comes, and Halling celebrates McKay's involvement in the event, much to the surprise of almost all of the expedition, and later that night back in Atlantis a drunken Lorne shows up at Rodney's door and jumps him (eloquent, huh? ;) ). Morning after and beyond to be left to author's discretion, lol.
Most of my plot bunnies have been spawning epics for some time now, pretty much since the days of MW and MVD, and the idea of sitting down and actually starting to write one/more of said bunnies is really rather daunting ^^

(Ok, I guess I should say now that I don't really play with them, unless I'm together with my little nephews/nieces, but, you know... ) ;-)

tortureplay with... ;)I don't know whether they're any bigger than the old ones. I only own those two ;).
no subject
I do ;) Or rather, I did before going to university. They lived on a shelf in my bedroom with half the NX-01 bridge, and got a pumpkin for Hallowe'en, and a miniature Christmas tree (I'm not weird...). On my desk at uni, I have a bat'leth wielding Klingon, Trip, and Malcolm holding a scale mace I bought in Germany last summer.
No idea how tall they are though, I'd have to dig one out of the garage and measure ;)

has any one of you ever been to a convention??

Oh, man! I just realized that I have to come up with another memory for you. Okay, this will probably sound lame, but I remember the first time you emailed me and we became cyber buds. :-)
no subject
1) I friended you because I knew you before I came to LJ, and was very happy to find you here ;).
2) Hmm. I guess I associate you with Robin of Sherwood. I've never watched the show, and I don't know anybody who watches it... apart from you ;).
3) I like that you never just dismiss things. You always give an honest opinion. That's very refreshing :).
4) Oh, hm, another memory. I remember the email you wrote me about Metamorphosis. It made my head swell to three times its normal size, and I was running around all day grinning like an idiot ;).
5) Reed/Hayes! Yours are the only Reed/Hayes fics I've ever read, and I really liked them, too! :)
6) This might sound a little lame since I already asked
7) Reed/Hayes decon! Because truer words were never spoken ;).
no subject
Oh, good! After the very kind feedback you gave me for Timepiece, I'm glad I was also able to boost your ego when it came to Metamorphosis! :-)
This might sound a little lame since I already asked
Nothing very exciting. I'm an editor (a citation editor to be specific) at a publisher specializing in legal material (e.g. books, databases, etc.). I basically spend my days reading Canadian court cases. (*Yawn*) *g*

1) I friended you because I like you and enjoy talking with you - always have :).
2) I associate you with the City of Atlantis. It's as full of pleasant surprises as you are ;).
3) I like that you're always yourself. Well, of course I have only limited ability to judge that, because I only know you via the internet - so far ;) - but from what I've seen, you're not a person to adopt a fake personality or even only a fake personality trait. I like that in people :). Oh, and I love your penname ;).
4) The Bugger Files. Especially chapter 6 ;). Oh, and A Simple Cold, when you turned Sita and me into evil scientists ;).
5) Hmm. I associate you with Carson (and for that purpose, I'll happily ignore that they blew him up ;) ).
6) Could you imagine living anywhere besides the UK?
7) I can't. I love them all. I can tell you my favorites, which would be Sheppard boldly going nowhere, the PMS icon, the Tao icon and the Carson tea icon. Yeah, I know I'm cheating. I'll try to narrow it down. Hmmm... I think I'll have to go with Teyla as my favorite icon. It made me laugh out loud when I saw it the first time ;). So did the force icon, and the tea icon, and the Sheppard icon. But I think the Teyla laugh was the loudest ;).
no subject
Someone likes my icons! *squee* lol
To answer your question I really couldn't imagine living anywhere else apart from the UK, I've only ever lived in Scotland and England - anywhere else would just feel really weird!!
