House 4x06
OMG CIA! LOL!
This was extremely awesome. Yay for nutso plots, and in contrary to what I've read all over LJ - that it's completely improbable for the CIA to single out House - I don't think it's improbable. People come from Cuba to get treated by House. If the CIA had a medical case they couldn't solve, House is certainly not the last person they'd think of.
Where do I know the CIA chick from? IMDB won't tell me! ETA: Ha! I noes! Emergency Room! ;)
Right, the CIA chick.
Pro's: OMG thank you TPTB for giving us a female duckling that is neither Cammy s1 nor Cammy s3. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure now that CTB will have to go, which is a shame. Die, 13, die.
Con's: O hai thar, love interest. This is getting SO OLD! Even though all the Gay Jokes in this episode made me less convinced that TPTB are really that uncool about House being gay. The joke about the life partner, and the way he was OH SO QUICK to make ABSOLUTELY sure that everyone around him thought he found CIA!chick SO HOT - the man doth protest too much, in a way.
What's so special about Polio? I mean, sure, there's a vaccine, and most sensible people do even use it, but there are always stupid people who fail to get proper information and don't vaccinate their kids. (I know they said she was vaccinated, but as Grumpy said, vaccines can wear off.) Polio is rare, yes, but rare enough for a Diagnostic's department that once diagnosed the Black Plague to simply dismiss it? Think again.
Oh, yeah, Grumpy. Well, I'm pretty indifferent about him going. I liked what he did. It was cool. I think House thought so, too, that's why he didn't fire him. He did what it took. House respects that. But Grumpy's not one for the eye-candy, and he's not exactly a thrilling character. So, better him than guy-who-electrocuted-himself-last-episode.
Ahahaha Wilson. Paranoid much? What was it in your past that you didn't want the CIA to find out, eh?
Cuddy was being weird this episode. Maybe she finally is pregnant. Or maybe it was just PMS.
ER-Cammy: "I miss people doing what it takes to get the job done."
AHAHAHA SHE OBVIOUSLY NEVER WATCHED EMERGENCY ROOM!
All in all - that episode gave me hope! Now all we need is a little more House/Wilson. And a little more Wilson. What did RSL do, did he spill David Shore's coffee? Give the man more than 15 seconds of screen time per episode! Give the character more of a purpose than simply existing to be a conversational partner for House and make more or less (mostly less) funny statements about House and pills.

I totally agree about the gay part!
Ahahaha Wilson. Paranoid much? What was it in your past that you didn't want the CIA to find out, eh?
I think what he is trying to hide has lots to do with why House is protesting so much... *wipes slash goggles*

It would seriously take A LOT for me to really hate an episode. House = &hearts
The Good:
House's ring tone! I was sooo hoping for it to be personalized for Wilson. I think I actually crossed my fingers. Come on, "what a man, what a mighty good man"? It screams Wilson!
You're so right about the Gay Jokes! I keep getting surprised by all The Gay TPTB are throwing at us. It really gives me hope...
Wilson's comments about naked!House? Ahh! House calls House naked? After using Viagra?! WHAT?! The fact that he would even joke about that is slashy. I mean, who says that to their friend, really?
The Bad:
I can handle zomg-so-sekrit-CIA!
I CAN'T handle really weird psuedo-polio storylines. It was kind of... well, there was a lot off about the medicine to me in this episode. Not like I'm a doctor or anything, but still.. I don't know.
NOOOOO NOOOO LOVE INTEREST NOOOOOOO!!! God the sex jokes were funny during the episode, but that last scene was...AWKWARD LIKE WOAH. She should NOT be coming back. NOOO. D:
....
But still. I will remain faithful in the TPTB. Give me MOAR WILSON! and MOAR OF TEH GAY! and I will be happy. :D

Lol yes, the ring tone! Another indication of teh gay. They really went overboard this episode ^^.
Lolol, have you seen this post re: nakedness? click
there was a lot off about the medicine to me in this episode
Lol the medicine was like the science in Doctor Who, only less cool. COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Lol.
Yes, more Wilson would be nice. *hopes*

O.O
I don't believe House respects or likes what Brennan did - I think he thinks, as he said, that the guy is a fucking whackjob. I believe he really did let him get away, and then called the police.
I don't know much about what he did to induce the fake polio symptoms. But the ultra-high doses of vitamin C to "treat" it? NOT COOL. That's actively harmful, and for no good reason. The patient ends up deceived about her illness, and it's all to support his "cause" - which is the unsupported belief that vitamin C "cures" polio. Pretty unlikely, IMO.
I'm not trying to jump on you, but for that moment where it really seemed House was just going to let it go, I was really disturbed. I don't think David Shore, et al. actually let him get away with it in canon though, hence the "call the cops," line.

My point is this: Brennan induced the polio symptoms and faked the test in order to reach his goal - he did what it took. As I said, House respects that. What Brennan did was extremely idiotic because it was so obvious (to House), and what he believes in is idiotic as well (as you said - vit C cures polio? yeah, right.), but that's not the point for House. Consider that House is the kind of person who left a patient that he thought had aplastic anemia lying convulsing in the snow just to prove that he was right.
House really couldn't care less about whether or not some treatment was harmful, as long as it reaches its goal. That's why I said I thought what Brennan did was cool - I didn't mean the act in itself, but I did like how they handled it (the way I said it was sort of retarded, I give you that, lol). It underlined this particular trait in House's character - a brutal ruthlessness towards the well-being of an individual person if there's a bigger picture involved.
If you ask me, the reason why he told Foreman to call the cops was 1) he was of the opinion that Brennan was too stupid to decide which bigger picture justifies extreme courses of action, and 2) because he knew that if he didn't, Foreman would go running to Cuddy and they'd call the cops anyway, only that it would involve a lot more trouble for House.

House feels passionate about solving the puzzle - not saving the patient, solving the puzzle - and so he goes to any length to reach his goal. It's the same principle. I think what House respected in Brennan was that he had the guts to do what he thought must have been done to get what he wanted. That's why he didn't point and laugh, mock and then fire him, but let him quit. Because he was acting on a principle that House approves of.
The fact that Brennan's passion was an idiotic one came into the equation only later on when House told Foreman to call the cops. At least that's how I see it.

I've heard a rumor that next week there's gonna be more Wilson. Don't know if it's true though.
Yeah, I actually like CIA chick. I don't know where all the hate comes from o.O. Besides, I heard she won't stay, anyway. Figures...

I also have no clue where the hate comes from..and I'd guessed she wouldn't be kicking about.
