I liked what he did. It was cool. I think House thought so, too, that's why he didn't fire him. He did what it took. House respects that.

I don't believe House respects or likes what Brennan did - I think he thinks, as he said, that the guy is a fucking whackjob. I believe he really did let him get away, and then called the police.
I don't know much about what he did to induce the fake polio symptoms. But the ultra-high doses of vitamin C to "treat" it? NOT COOL. That's actively harmful, and for no good reason. The patient ends up deceived about her illness, and it's all to support his "cause" - which is the unsupported belief that vitamin C "cures" polio. Pretty unlikely, IMO.
I'm not trying to jump on you, but for that moment where it really seemed House was just going to let it go, I was really disturbed. I don't think David Shore, et al. actually let him get away with it in canon though, hence the "call the cops," line.
