I was just reminded why I don't smoke. I met a friend at uni whom I hadn't seen in a while. We went for a cup of coffee, and she told me that she was going home to dump her boyfriend who she had been together with for more than five years, and that at the moment, her life tended to suck most of the time. I noticed that she had picked up smoking again, and so I had a cigarette with her - I don't know why, it just seemed like the right thing to do to make her feel a little better. Sort of a feels-like-the-end-of-the-world-but-we're-laughing-anyway thing.
My last cigarette before this one I had in May 2004. I'd forgotten how awful they taste. I'm still coughing ;P.

oh, and about the ciggies - well, I only smoke when I'm getting drunk, but I have to admit, right now I wouldn't say no to one. I had a shitty day. (literally - pipes clogged AGAIN) and I'm bloody tired and I have to go to work in a minute.

I also quit smoking in May of 2004. I occasionally have a smoke when I'm drinking now (I didn't for the first two and a half years that I quit), but it would make me sick if I did it sober.

Took me a while to find a character that fit you! Dean Winchester from Supernatural. He has this rough tough guy exterior that can shock and baffle people, but deep down in his heart, he's this sweet guy who simply loves his brother above everything else and hates any violence and injustice ;).

Urgh smoking...loads of people do it here at uni and I hate the way you're clothes always reek of the smoke after they've gone. Plus I always end up coughing and getting the dirty 'stop trying to guilt us into putting it out' look which annoys me lol

Rodney reminds me of you, because he's not really a people person, and very, very pragmatic in his way of handling every-day life, but at the same time he believes in the good in people - in his own special way ;).

You know, I just realized, part of my fascination with Dexter is that he sometimes reminds me of myself, too. Not the whole serial-killing thing, but the whole "faking it around the normals" thing. I can make strangers think that I am sooo charming when I make the effort, but most of it is completely fake and I'm secretly bored out of my mind. Unlike him, I don't usually bother making the effort, though. (See: operation find friends among the normals at uni, spectacular failure ;)

Smoking was always the one bad habit I had enough self-discipline not to start with. I get addicted to stuff so easily, I don't think I'd ever be able to quit, so I figured I should probably try not to start at all ;).
