Doctor Who - proper squeeage post
I must write another post about how awesome Dr. Who is, even though I a) already did a post about that, and b) suck at posts like that. Still. Dr. Who. Awesomeness.
So I've now watched all three seasons. And oh my goodness, let me tell you, that season 3 finale did me in. It's like there's someone on the writers team who has the EXACT same kinks as I do.
I love it when people lose other people. Secretly, I'm a sucker for deathfics. I'd read them all the damn time if they weren't so freaking sad. And what does Dr. Who? They go and create the biggest fucking deathfic EVER - the man lost his whole RACE for god's sake - but they make it funny. They make him funny. They make him chipper and happy and excited all the time, and it's brilliant, but every time, every damn time he lost something, I was on the edge of my seat, thinking, this time he's gonna crack, this time he is NOT just going to say, [engage British accent] Ah, naaaaah, I'm foine, let's have a cuppa and then check out the 17th century, shall we? but he's gonna sit down and cry and let someone hug him all bettah.
And then, finally in the finale, they did just that. Okay, nobody hugged him, but he finally cracked, and it was so good. So good. Amazing. *dies*
We got rid of Martha the Med Student. That is good. And Captain Jack is back! And immortal, what do you know. I should really go and finally watch Torchwood.
The Doctor and Jack do make a nice pairing. They'd need Rose to be really complete, but still, it's fun to see them together. Bitching and bickering at each other, lol. And omg, Jack is the Face of Bo. That is a brilliant twist (if it's for real).
Essentially, I think the awesomeness of Dr. Who is that there is this guy who is basically SO ready to die - lost his race, lost his home, lost his family, lives as an anonymous traveler, nobody knows him, nobody ever stays with him, he's completely alone and there's no-one he can share all his knowledge and all his power with - but even though he really is ready to leave, he can't let go. Because the universe never ends, and he is just so curious. So curious to see what's out there, what there is that he hasn't seen yet. So even if it's killing him, he'll keep doing what he's doing because he just can't stop before he hasn't seen all that he can see and found out all that he can find out. He's essentially exactly like he always claims that humans are like - curious to the last second.
And that's brilliant. That's just brilliant. Because you can't kill him. He was broken long ago, but he can never be killed, because he'll keep going and going because the universe never ends and there's always more to see. He won't stop.
Oh yeah, this is a show of awesomeness. Anybody who hasn't seen it yet should go and watch it. There's some nice soundtrack, too ;).

That's quite a schedule you got there, lol ;). But I approve *gg*. You only have the 1st season of Who, don't you? You should go and get the 2nd and 3rd, too. Eccleston as the Doctor is alright, but Tennant is MUCH more fun ;D.
And again, you're very welcome ;D.

Yes, of course. After I watched the first epis of SG-A I thought, well that´s funny but now? I really do love McKay. In SG-1 I thought what a weird guy but in SG-A he is one of the most funny, annoying and best actors (at least for me). I guess this evening I could be able to finish watching the first season of SG-A.
Oh and yes it´s really quite a schedule I have. See, I want to watch the x-files again (third time? I guess, third) and I want to watch all epis of the other stuff, especially House and all the stuff I didn´t seen right now. And I want to read fanfiction (not just about House or x-files, no currently about SG-1) and I guess there will be a lot of good stuff in the www. Arrgh but I have to go to work and I have a few other things to do. But ... hm, who cares?
I´ll watch one by one and well .. . maybe I will get old enough to watch, read and do all the stuff I want to watch, read and to do. And my own story is starving. But not death (I hope).
