Strikethrough '07, Part 2

Fuck fuck fuck. I hate it when stuff like that happens to my favorite sites. It always does. I remember pretty much the same happening to ff.net. LJ please don't do that to me!

Anywayz. Just posting to make y'all (and by y'all, I mean everybody out there who is active in fandom) join [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts. Purpose of this comm is a headcount of all fannish people out there - and that's really all it is, a headcount. No posting, no discussion. All you have to do is join. And make LJ see that they're pissing off the wrong people when they're messing with fandom.

And heh: Just checked the user info page of [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts - 22958 members and counting.

I see there's an apology and explanation on the home page now. It's refreshing to see that LJ is willing to acknowledge that they made a mess, and to try to put it right. No doubt it'll become clearer over the next few days whether they've sorted it out or not.

I just joined! You'll be happy to know that the number of members was at about 26000 when I poked my head in. :-)

I'm really behind with the news, but what exactly is LJ doing? Have they decided to censor posts and/or eliminate NC-17/slash fic?

Thanks for the info. As I said before, I was a little out of the loop. I'm relieved that LJ hasn't decided to ban NC-17 or slash...yet. *g* And, as [livejournal.com profile] housepiglet pointed out, LJ has posted a public apology, so that's something. While I'm not holding my breath, I'm hoping this is the last we hear on the subject of banning, etc.
