Thanks! Glad you like my new layout. I wasn't exactly thrilled about it yesterday, but it's starting to grow on me ;).
I would like to read it soon *squirms* Yeah... um... I'll try to finish it quickly - but it's the kind of fic that is soo hard for me to write. I just hope it won't die on me.
BTW, did you get the parcel? And I still owe you a response to your email, right? I'll get right on that as soon as I can, promise :).
I took my laptop to uni today and watched the episode with neery - it's torture to watch those scenes and not being able to squee appropriately because you're in a public corridor with people passing by all the time!
Yep, we both started studying medicine at the same university at the same time. Actually, it's how we met ;).
Don't forget to bring your headphones... and something to bite down on, to keep yourself from going into hysterics and have people stare at you *speaks from experience* ;).
^^ I wasn't really active on LJ before neery got me into it (I had an account, but I hadn't written an entry in ages... and had one friend on my flist ;) ).
She watches the series - with me - and she did join in on the squeeing about 3x19, but as far as writing is concerned, she's more into SGA. And Wiseguy. I'm co-authoring a House fic with her, though. However, we haven't touched it in weeks :P.
Co-authoring must be difficult, I've always thought, but I've read a few co-authored stories that are just superb. (Creed Cascade and SassyInkPen's Just... (http://www.insaneasylum.slashfanfiction.com/house/onekiss.htm) series, for instance.)
What's SGA about? I keep seeing refrerences to it, but I've never watched it. Is this Sheppard bloke I keep reading about in it? I thought there was a Sheppard/Shepherd/Shep* in Gray's Anatomy, but I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm confused :)
This layout is just not discussion-friendly - opening a new comment thread ;).
SGA is a spin-off of Stargate: SG-1. In case you don't know that show, it's basically an AU of our current time: in the nineties, the USA discovered something called a Stargate underneath Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado - it's a device that allows people to travel to other planets via wormholes. Well, SGA - Stargate: Atlantis - is a spin-off about the expedition that was sent by humanity to explore the Lost City of Atlantis, which in Stargate is actually a city on a planet in another galaxy. An ancient, technologically highly developed race built that city (which makes for a lot of fun and crack in fanfic, because you can do anything you want in your fanfic and blame it all on the fact that the SGA people don't understand the complicated technology ;) ).
Yep, Sheppard's in it - Colonel John Sheppard. He's rather cute. My favorite character is Rodney McKay, though - the snarky, anti-social astrophysics genius ;). The two of them are often paired up.
I don't know about any Sheppards in Grey's Anatomy. I've only ever seen one episode of that show.
I like co-auhtoring. It can be complicated, but it keeps you going with a fic. I've co-authored a lot of fics with my older sister ;).
Ahaa! Thanks for explaining SGA. I've never seen Stargate either, and I had no idea that it was such a complex idea! I can see why people enjoy it :)
Thanks for explaining the Sheppard reference too. I think there may be one (perhaps spelled differently) in Gray's, but it's a long time since I've watched that. I've been recording it for... well it must be getting on for a year now! So at some stage I'll have the whole second series to watch all in one go.
Normally I wouldn't either. I loved S1, and really looked forwards to S2, but unfortunately the start of it over here coincided with the height of my addiction to Housefics, and I didn't really have time to watch television any more :) I watched a couple of episodes, but the computer kept calling me back.
I've got one of those cunning broadband HD TV programme recording devices (the things that are taking the place of videos) so I simply had to press "Record Series" and it's been recording it ever since. I keep meaning to set a weekend aside to watch it, but there's always so much Housefic to read/write/vids to watch/make etc etc Maybe next year!
so I simply had to press "Record Series" and it's been recording it ever since *awed* There are devices that do that sort of stuff? OMG science fiction! ;)
When it comes to television technology, I stopped paying attention when they invented the DVD player ^^. I don't watch TV at all, actually. German TV's crap, and boring. I download - and all I need for that is my computer ;).
I really haven't turned on the TV only once ever since last September, when I moved into this apartment. o_O

Oh boy, as Wilson would say. Take it from me, with my fanfiction, nothing's done till it's done. *ducks head guiltily* I'm doing my best, though ;).
