Yuletide Letter

Dear Yuletide Author,

Sorry this is late! I was at Fanworks and did not get around to writing my letter in time. /o\

Anyway, it's that time of the year! Thank you so much for offering to write fic. As a general disclaimer, please know that I'll love anything you write, so if you have an idea already, don't let my ramblings deter you. I'm just putting them here for inspiration in case you're looking for some. <3

General thoughts:
I really only have one DNW, which is ABO--I just can't wrap my head around it, so I'd ask that you avoid it. Beyond that, I'm excited to read whatever you decide to write--gen or PWP, kink, anything goes. I really enjoy fic that makes me both laugh and cry (perhaps even at the same time!), and I enjoy reading about characters being bad at emotions and relationships but trying their hardest in their own, messed-up way. I'm very much into character-driven stuff.

As for tropes, I enjoy enemies/rivals-to-lovers, hurt/comfort, believed to be dead, sickfic if it's funny enough, and angst with a happy ending (among others). I'm not so big on coffee shop AUs, domestic fluff, classic romance tropes, or high school AUs.

Specific requests:

Nirvana in Fire
Jingyaaaaan. <3 I would like him and Mei Changsu to work out that whole thing that happened there, with the gaslighting and the lying and the running away to be killed in battle to avoid having to talk about feelings. Don't get me wrong, I love Mei Changsu as well, but these two have a few things to talk about. I'm not asking you for an intricate fix-it, of course, I'm perfectly happy with a hand-wavey "he survives and comes back" thing. Mostly I just want Jingyan and Mei Changsu to work their shit out.

I adore most other characters in NiF as well, so if you'd like to bring them in as supporting characters, please do. If you'd rather not write about Jingyan and Mei Changsu at all, I have also nominated Yujin and Jingrui. With those two, I keep wanting to read the letters they wrote to each other while Jingrui was off getting to know his sister/family.

Or anything else you want to write for this canon/these characters! The only thing I ask is no deaths at the end (including Mei Changsu, if possible). Other than that, I'm game for anything.

Detective L
These people are very silly and I love them. As I said in my optional details, I'm mainly interested in Luo Fei and Qin Xiao Man--and, to be honest, mostly in Qin Xiao Man and the man who absolutely adores her. I'm here for oblivious Qin Xiao Man and Luo Fei desperately crushing on her but being too proud/stubborn to admit it. Perhaps Ben Jie Ming could serve as a matchmaker? Or perhaps he and Luo Fei are already in a relationship and eventually Ben Jie Ming is like "should we just invite her to join us, since you won't stop talking about her". Wang Susu could matchmake, too, or perhaps you're feeling an external POV fic where Wang Susu observes Luo Fei's and Qin Xiao Man's (and maybe also Ben Jie Ming's?) relationship progressing.

Anyway, with this fandom, I just really want them to deal with the unresolved attraction. This can be explicit, but doesn't have to be. I'm here for OT3, if that's your thing.

Chinese Duolingo Course For English Speakers
I fell intro c-drama and started the Mandarin Duolingo course ... and now I want to know more about Doctor Wang and Teacher Li. And also Teacher Zhang, who was there at the beginning and then mysteriously disappeared! Teacher Li I think had a line about not being happy? Also I think they have a dog, and someone asked about their wife once. Doctor Wang works in the mornings (as far as I remember) and is very busy. In my head, they've become a lesbian couple trying to live their busy lives around their jobs and dogs and children (I think Doctor Wang has two children?), and I want to know more. With this, you can really go wild--do whatever you're feeling.

The Thick of It
I want to know what's going on with Peter and Stewart. At the center of my fascination lies the suit scene ("You look like you've been startled by a fire alarm.") but it's in all of their interactions. They clearly despise each other, but in a way that attracts rather than repulses. At least that's what it looks like to me. If you agree with me, please tell me more about how this works, and what the consequences are!

Happy writing, Yuletide author. Thank you again for doing this!
