I was having sad fandom feels last night (mostly caused by Leonard Nimoy dying :/) and decided to see if anyone still hangs out on the old platforms where you can actually TALK to people. ;) So here I am! We should chat now and again. Maybe I can rope some more people into coming back to DW/LJ.
Otherwise I'm good! Nothing much has changed in my life since we saw each other. I am taking a trip this summer to Papua New Guinea, which I'm super excited about.
How's Gabon?? How much longer will you be there? If I don't stop by this year, will you still be there next year?

Gabon is still hot and weird. But I like it. Now that I have the bike, it's so much easier to get stuff done. Really changed my life. I think I'll still be here until summer 2016, my contract runs out then and I think that'll be enough of West Africa for me then. You should come visit some day. I have spaaaaaaaace. ;)
I've occasionally checked your DW so I have some vague idea of what you've been up to. I definitely wanna see where you ended up! Maybe I can squeeze in a visit next February or something ...
Sounds like a good idea. I'll have to wait to see the holiday calendar for next year to see if I have a holiday in February (this year we only had a long weekend, boo!) but it's a good season to come, in between the rains. Otherwise Easter might be good again. :)
Cool! Will definitely have to be next year, but early in the year is good -- I usually have some vacation days I need to use up before the end of March, and maybe I can use some of the Easter holidays. I'm definitely going to keep it in the back of my head. :)

The problem here is that the numbers are too small. Trying to bring people back here would really help. We should do some kind of membership drive on tumblr or something... The supernatural fandom on DW can be counted on two hands. That's... pitiful. The discussion post isn't even a whole post but only a thread in a general tv post, and there are only two people discussing things, if that.
I love the episodic-supernatural comm though. Half of the fandom is there with me, writing drabbles and making icons. That is a lot of fun.

I have some spn people on my flist who regularly post about spn. Although those are probably only on lj...? Yeah. So, nothing there.
The comm that has spn threads is tv_talk. Oh, I just see that tv_talk doesn't even have the homebase post anymore that it used to have for season 9. Probably because there was nothing there, either. :/ (well, 192 comments in the course of a whole season.)
The only two people I know who regularly commented on season 9 there are kate and colls, and they both organize the episodic_supernatural community.
The comm is great, but it's a creative comm, not a discussion comm. But if you check out the participants and moderators, you will definitely find people who like to discuss spn. [and the comm is great for updating your icons, too. ;)]
