I want to make sweet sweet love to Arthur Eddington.

And by sweet sweet love I of course mean having a long geeky discussion with him on science, the theory of relativity, religion and everything in between. Ajshgfs that movie was such a fangasm for me, on so many different levels.


First of all: OMG THERE WAS GHEY. And David got it across so perfectly, I hearts him for that. You could tell that Eddington had a thing for William from the very first scene when they were playing tennis. Idk how he does it, but he just got this thing where you can read everything on his face. ♥

Second: OMG THERE WAS DAVID. Obviously. But, you know. DAVID. I love him as the Doctor, but seeing him in other stuff just always proves how awesome exactly he is, because, you know. He just is. Doctor Who is always so huge in its gestures and scenes and and its drama; this movie wasn't, and he was still pulling it off like it was nothing. I'm not being very coherent here, but I think you might know what I mean.

Third: OMG THERE WAS PHYSICS GEEKISM. Physics rules the universe. This whole idea of physics being bigger and more important than any quarrels between countries and any patriotic concerns: I can relate so much. Physics is powerful, physics can change the world view of a whole culture just by existing. I'm not particularly religious, but I have to agree with Eddington: if there's a god or some uber-powerful creator-being, physics is where you can hear it thinking.


Oh, I adored this movie so much. I think it was made for me specifically. *nods*

I've only seen screencaps (I have it downloaded ready for a HUGE TV download viewing this weekend - I have endless supply of popcorn and alcohol - woop!) but omg - the train scene with David riding along by it? I was feeling so fucking sad for him just by looking at those images.

I feel for Eddington; hhe seemed so inlove with someone that society (and I guess William, probably being pressured to abandon the sin) would never accept D:

Aww, yes, that one was sad, but there's one that's much sadder even. Broke my heart and made me whimper. David does the whole quiet heartbreak thing so so well.

Yes, when he was with William, it was pretty much the only times that he seemed actually happy and content with the world. And then he lost him. :(

Damn you Tennant, you're gonna make me cry! I wailed through the entire of Recovery. And that last paragraph is why I'm all for allowing people to love a fellow man or woman - isn't not our right to destroy someone's life just because we (not us obviously) deem it wrong.

Thing is, Eddington wasn't even all that unhappy with the whole unrequited thing. He didn't have to tell anyone, he was more or less content to love William from afar and spend time with him as a friend. It was only when he lost him that he wanted to be able to be honest about what that meant to him. And he couldn't even do that. :(

Well, he did both Recovery and Einstein and Eddington while filming Doctor Who as well. The man's just a workaholic that way ;).

I'm just wondering what he'll get up to when he doesn't have a show or a play anymore to fill his time off. Omg, he might get bored! Lol xD
