House

I made a pretty new icon. Now I have to post an entry to be able to use it. I'll list a few House/Wilson ficrecs, since reading House/Wilson is how I spent my last two days.

A Life Never Lived by Mer
Words: 5381
Summary: Wilson learns that Cuddy didn't want him as a donor and that Julie had an abortion.
Note: A sad Wilson angst fic. No real slash, but very strong friendship. It doesn't have a happy ending, but you can always imagine one.

Brain Damage by fourteencandles
Words: 8185
Summary: Wilson's not feeling great; House isn't solving the mystery.
Note: Sick Wilson! Yay! The solution in the end is a little - well, not lame, but too quick. That's okay, though, since we get all those nice fluffy House/Wilson scenes. Oh, it's an established relationship in this one.

Contamination by Hllangel
Words: 16,538
Summary: Someone's spreading rumors at PPTH.
Note: First timer. Quite an unconventional one, though. It's very well structured. And it works, even though it's not a plot that is easy to write in a convincing way.

Friday Night & Saturday Morning by Housepiglet
Words: 2455
Summary: Wilson has an accident at House's apartment. House isn't sure how to deal with the aftermath.
Note: Pre-slash. Again, yay for sick Wilson. Hurt Wilson. Whatever. Short, but sweet, and well written.

His Coy Mistress by Maineac
Words: 8475
Summary: Pain had been his bedfellow and mistress for over six years now.
Note: This one isn't slash, and not even real pre-slash. It's friendship, and there's the tiniest bit of House/Cuddy in it. It is a brilliant spin on the post-"No Reason" events, though. Kinda sad; the ending is very depressing. It makes you want to make cookies for House, and that's saying something.

House Rules by Mer
Words: 2882
Summary: Wilson looks after him. Jimmy plays with him.
Note: Friendship, but slashier than some slash fics. Moment-in-time-kinda fic; a characterization of House's and Wilson's friendship. It's funny, too.

Lost Sleep by Mer
Words: 4126
Summary: Wilson is exhausted, but he can't sleep. House takes charge.
Note: It's archived as Gen, but it's really more pre-slash. This time, it's Wilson you're gonna want to make cookies for. It has a couple of very sweet moments, and a few very angsty one - Wilson angst. It does have a more or less happy ending.

Obsession-For Doctors by Michelle Christian
Words: 3301
Summary: Everyone is obsessed with something.
Note: First timer. This one floored me with brilliant characterization and character insight. Everything fits perfectly. No angst and not really humor either, just the madness of real life (as far as that's possible in fiction).

The Best Medicine by Mer
Words: 4086
Summary: House discovers just how much he enjoys Wilson's laugh. What unexpected things does he do throughout the day to get a chuckle?
Note: Friendship, but again, very slashy friendship (especially the ending). Funny and sweet. It'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy - well, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Untouchable by bironic
Words: 3217
Summary: After Atlantic City, Wilson seeks comfort at House's apartment and asks a question of his own. Takes place immediately following "Son of Coma Guy".
Note: Pre-slash, but very, very sad pre-slash. It's hard to imagine a relationship after this one. It's very well written, though, with a lot of character insight. After this one, you'll be making yourself some cookies ;).

What's Up, Doc? by gena
Words: 3571
Summary: House can't sleep for a week.
Note: I'm not sure whether this is meant as pre-slash or as an established relationship. It doesn't really matter, though. It's very funny, very cracky. Wilson is driven half-crazy, and all you can do is stand and watch and laugh your ass off. And all's well that ends well, of course ;).

I really liked the sex scene in this one (http://isagel.livejournal.com/83008.html?style=mine). But most of the NC-17 scenes I've found so far in this fandom don't really work for me, either. If only because I'm annoyed about all the additional potential for angst the authors are wasting when they ignore House's disability.

I don't particularly like short fics myself, but established relationship doesn't really do anything for me in most cases.

Oh, and I *always* want more recs.

I can't seem to stop myself from spamming you with recs today. Tipping Point (http://squidge.org/housefanfiction/archive/1/tippingpoint.html), which is also NC-17, sorry.

Sectional view thingies? What on earth is that? In other words, is there something I need to know that I haven't studied yet? O.O
And no, you can't blame me. You may blame fandom. ;-)

To make sure I'm not the only one failing sectional thingies tomorrow, have one more rec: A Differential Diagnosis for Green Silk (http://community.livejournal.com/housefic/52379.html?style=mine).
