Ophthalmologist, urgh

So I went to the ophthalmologist today to have them check my retinas (it's a routine thing I have to do once a year), and, ugh, how I hate it. They give you eye-drops that make your pupils open wide and then freeze, so your eyes can't adjust to lighting conditions anymore. They then take the brightest light they can find and shine it into your eyes, which actually hurts if they do it for as long as they did it today. Then they send you home with pupils wide enough to make people think your stoned off your ass.

I didn't go home, though. I went to the dean's office to tell them I want to resign from my med school courses. Ahahahaha. They didn't say anything, though.

There was an amusing moment when I was walking down the street towards the subway station and squinted against the light that was shining in my eyes, and read a street sign that said "St-Pauls-Square" as "St-Penis-Square". No, I'm not obsessed, why do you ask?

And this post was complete, unashamed "my woe, let me show you it!". Um. Have an e-cookie?

That's why I'm wondering if it would be smarter to wait til tomorrow morning until the first batch is done and can seed themselves. So the time won't be so agonizingly long.
But then again, it will be long anyway... LOL

Yeah, they were fine. I didn't expect much else, it's really just routine. Thanks for asking, though! :)

Glad to hear it - my mom had to have her retina's checked every year and she also hated (HATED) those eyedrops, so I sympathize...

Torchwood goes with Doctor Who like, uh, I don't know. The sonic screwdriver goes with Ten? Something like that xD.

And yeah, those eye drops do suck. Esp since they take forever to wear off, and you can't really do anything while they're still having an effect because all you wanna do is put your hands over your eyes and hide in a dark room, lol.

I hate having my eyes examined, and that retina-check I hate most of all! I get to do it even more often than other people because I have mysterious scar-tissue on my right retina. They kind of like to keep an eye on those...

That would freak me out. I'm hella paranoid about things near/in/messing with my eyes. Omg. I'd run away from them. :(
