They were being remarkably civil, actually. I'm surprised.

house_wilson members are sort of shocked, but there's less wank than this profile could have caused. Some people actually show common sense:

Although, it always felt to me like House fans were either of the 4Chan or SRSBZNS variety, if that makes sense. Overly simplified of course, but you get the point.
I tend to be more serious, and I know people who watch purely for the crack... so maybe this was a natural split? o_O;

You guys, I have a point to make.
When this comm was created, I (and many others with me, I assume) was under the impression that our goal was to create a sand- and wank-free environment in which to enjoy our pairing. Instead, it seems like all we've done so far is create more wank. I don't think our main goal should be annoying the shit out of house_wilson and other people in the fandom.
If I've got it all wrong, feel free to correct me. If people are with me, plz let's all come up with some constructive suggestions on how to blow the sand out of our collective vaginas.

I'm really glad to see that the House fandom, apart from a few exception [SAVE THE PINK PONIES respectively YOU GUYS ARE FAGGOTS], seems to have progressed to the point where things like common sense and reasonable arguments are not the last items in the Guide How To Discuss Shit In This Fandom anymore. On the other hand...

house_wilson is the last shit hole and everybody who hangs out there is a loser. I don't care whether that's your mods' personal opinion or not. Personal opinions don't count when you as a group are making a general statement.

house_wilson: Stop with the self-righteousness already! The comm has been on fandom_wank multiple times; there's a pecking order and rivalry going on behind the scenes which makes law school seem a friendly place. The attitude of everything's brilliant no matter how shit it is, except if it's written in capslock or in text speak is more than hypocritical, and the sheer amount of useless, off-topic entries posted every day is baffling. This comm is NOT the pink fluffy flower power place that you'd like it to be.

In conclusion: neither of those comms is Baby Jesus' answer to global warming. House/Wilson fandom needs a strictly moderated comm with controlled submissions and mods who are not afraid to delete shit when they see it. We had a chance to get that with

hausvilson, and we blew it.

house_wilson, it doesn't really matter what it's called; as long as everybody is allowed to post whatever they want, the comm will churn out shit faster than a sewage plant.

I wonder how other fandoms manage. Maybe they actually have comms like

hausvilson, and people actually accept the fact that there's doing stuff for the LULZ and then there's doing SRSBZNS stuff, and that each of these things belong in separate comms? And that it's not like a person can't do both?

I'm interested to see what will happen next. And a little terrified, too.

Honestly, I think that some of the people on HW are, like you said, amazingly self-righteous. I don't get the thing they have about capslock. But that's another argument for another time.

sorry, I've discussed way to many things already today

I am responsible for starting the new place. I am tired of all the crazy at h_w, and wanted a place to discuss the pairing. I cannot stand reading h_w on a regular basis. I scan from time to time, but it usually bores or disgusts me. There doesn't seem to be much more than people posting sims, crafts, my children/dogs/sandwiches look like house and wilson, or fic. I like fic, but I'm sick of reading the same unoriginal stuff over and over again. I have most of my favorite authors friended and they are the only thing I bother to read.

I am an asshole capslocker, so yeah, my community is going to be a mix between capslock and not so much. I think everyone, myself included, needed to vent about the lack of quality in H_W. It wasn't the most mature of ways, but this is the internet and I hate SRS BZNZ.

Anyway, I will do real title page for the community sometime soon. I didn't even advertise it outside of the capslockers (but h_w got ahold of it and went crazy BECAUSE IT WAS IN CAPSLOCK SOMETIMES). Things are calming down now and the place is establishing itself. I'm not going to forbid people to slander other people, because that isn't my style.

I skim HW as well and it seems like the annoying posts are all the kind of stuff that should be over at the OT comm. There was a brief flash of potential when the Simmers got their own comm, but then they kept on crossposting anyway and magnificently defeated the purpose. Haven't been to the new comm, but what's the gist of it? Ranting, meta, lulz? All three?

All of the above. We're getting away from all the ranting now (it needed to be done, IMO) and moving on to the slashing. I changed the info to reflect more of what the community is about.

I cleaned h_w off my f-list a couple of weeks ago and haven't really been there since. I don't miss it, not at all. Like you, I have the people whose writing I like on my personal reading list, and the rest at h_w is usually less than entertaining. Mostly it makes me wanna punch my computer screen.

My rant above was not so much about defending either comm or attacking anyone involved in the discussion personally (except maybe the people of the two wanky comments I linked, because they both deserve it).

My rant was actually this: in the House/Wilson fandom, we have house_wilson, a comm that prides itself in being SRSBZNS and at the same time mainly consists of posts about Sims, and we have the Capslockers, who pride themselves in not being SRSBZNS. Well, they aren't. I'm really not one of the capslock haters - I'm a member of the comm, after all. What I don't like is the very personal fandom member bashing that happens from time to time, but this is the internet. If I don't like it, I stay away.

Well, but that leaves people like me a precious little amount of places to go. If I want the crazee, I check out CLH. I used to check h_w for fic, but they annoyed me so much with their Sims-shit that I think it'll be a while until I can go back there. Besides, the good fic at h_w is sparse.

What I think we need is, as I said, a strictly moderated comm where it's simply not allowed to post every and any sort of shit.

hausvilson project. House fandom, however, in all its wanky glory, wailed about elitism, and the comm died. Which leaves the fandom stuck with a lot of comms where you can go for craziness or mindless fannishness, but lacking a place to go when you're for once not in the mood for silliness.

So, just to clarify, this was not against you or your comm. This was against the atmosphere in the House fandom in general. Because it sucks.

I think the wankery HWL were referring to was the general shittiness pervading H_W, not an actual stop to pissing people off. But IDK, my judgement is clouded by my overall intolerance of H_W and all the bastions of mediocrity it represents. And some excellent fanfic :D

I'm all for a comm that reduces the general shittiness of its contents to a minimum. However, if the shittiness is replaced with wank, then I have to say I'm interested in neither comm.

HWL is just starting out. I don't know in which direction it'll develop. I just think they could have made the starting out thing easier on themselves with less provocation.

It's not just House/Wilson, it's the whole fandom. For some reason, this fandom is trying to be twice as wanky as SPN and Harry Potter put together. It's seriously annoying.
