I've used both Flexible Squares and Smooth Sailing, and while FS looks better than SmS in default, SmS gives you even more freedom to customize. Just about *anything* is a class ^^.
I'm working on that tutorial. However, all you'll probably get out of it is a commented html-sourcecode and a css-file with all the classes listed. I'm writing it for people who have no or only very little knowledge about html and/or css :).
