I'm with you. H/C (which is short for hurt/comfort, which is the fandom genre term for stories where one half of a romantic or potentially romantic couple gets hurt and the other half frets about them/provides comfort) is one of my favorite tropes. It used to be huge, on partner cop shows, but at some point in the early 2000s, television decided that it was overdone. And now even shows like Castle that are purposefully going for the cheesy pulp mystery thriller style don't do it anymore. It's a little bit tragic.
