... or The Amazing Way to Make People Answer Embarrasing Personal Questions ;).
Basic Rules:
1. If you want to be interviewed, leave a comment here.
2. I'll ask you five questions.
3. You'll post the answers on your own blog or lj, along with these rules. (or you post them in a comment. Whichever you prefer).
4. If anyone replies, asking you for five questions, you'll ask them.
neery asked me:
1. If you could make Stephen King write a novel just for you, what would it be about?
Oh... that's a hard question. King's books are usually exactly what I want, so I don't really know what more to ask for. I could ask for slash, I guess ;). Um. King has written this wonderful book together with Peter Straub, titled "Black House". It's the sequel to "The Talisman", and it's about the grown-up that Jack, the 12-year-old boy from the Talisman book, grew up to be. At 12, Jack finds out that he has the ability to switch back and forth between this reality and another one, and in the other one, he's some kind of messiah/antichrist all in one. This experience pretty much screws up his life, and he's this damaged, angsty, retired-at-30 FBI cop in "Black House". Well, in that book, he has to solve a case about a serial killer who has a connection to that other reality. It's kinda complicated to explain, especially since I still want to make you read those two books, and would like to avoid spoiling you too much. Grown-up Jack has a friend, however, Henry, who is the only one who brightens up Jack's angsty outcast life. I guess if I could make King write anything, I'd make him rewrite that book as a slash version.
2. If you could live in any fictional place (Atlantis, one of the Star Trek ships, Hogwarts, something like that), would you want to? Which would you choose?
I'd totally want to. I'd want to live in all of them. I'd want to be able to check out life as a Starfleet member, then switch to be a Klingon warrior on one of the Bird of Preys. Then I'd check out Atlantis, and then I'd want to be a Wraith for a while. Hogwarts I'd want to see, too, as a student, as a teacher, and maybe as a house elf or something. And for a few hours, I'd want to be Voldemort, just to find out how that feels. I'd like to see Castle Rock, one of King's fictional villages, and I'd like to meet Crowley and Aziraphale. I'd want to stop by PPTH and have a fight with House. I'd want to give Wilson a hug, because the guy really needs one. And then I'd be off to check out all the other places.
I know this isn't really a precise answer to your question, but I honestly can't decide where I'd want to be the most :P.
3. If you could choose any superpower, which one would you want?
Hmm. Flying is neat, but only being able to fly is a little useless. Maybe I'd want the ability to mess with time. Yeah, I guess I'd like that. Stop time without being affected myself, rewind it, fast forward it, stuff like that. A little like a lich in an ADnD computer game. I wouldn't want to look like one, though.
4. What do you wish you could do that you can't?
Lots and lots and lots of things ;). Mostly, getting myself to giving more of a damn. Having the ability to get myself to do stuff. Take driving, for example. I know that if I get pulled over, I will have to do that stupid seminar and the stupid exam and pay a carload of money which I can't afford. Still, I can't get myself to drive properly even only for the two probation years after getting the driver's license. I'm always walking the fine line right there on the edge, with everything. Uni, driving, anything. I never do more than I absolutely have to, and mostly, it's out of spite, not because I couldn't do more. So far, I didn't crash and burn, but I know it'll happen at some point. Still, I can't change my behavior. It's something that I really can't stand about myself.
5. Is there anything you've done that most people haven't?
Hmm. Well, I don't really have a exciting, unusual life, but I've done some things which were fun, and which weren't things that everybody has done in their lives. I once had a Boa Constrictor around my neck (it wasn't choking me - I think it wasn't hungry ;) ). I rode an elephant. I went to another country without knowing the address, the phone number or even the last name of the person I was going to meet. The first time I drove a car, I was something like 10 years old, and the person who let me drive was my mom. Um... can't think of anything else. What I do that many people don't: if I really, really want something with all my heart, mind and soul, I usually go and do it. But only if I can be arsed (see question No. 4).
