Is this detail part of canon, or did you come up with it?
I did come up with this myself. I'm afraid I'll have to admit that theorizing about Gallifreyan physiology is a bit of a hobby of mine. Glad you approve! :) Oh, and thanks for pointing out the typo. *edits*

Lol, I'm very glad you liked my tentative attempts at comedy ;).

Hey, you're an X-Files fan too!
I most definitely am! Only 10 more days! :D

What, no water pistol in the Doctor's pockets?
I have a theory about the Doctor's pockets, and since you asked, you'll get to hear it, whether you want to or not ;) - I think that his pockets are, as he said in Runaway Bride, bigger on the inside. But that's not all. I think that they have an unlimited storage capacity, but when you reach into them, all you find is a normal sized pocket with whatever item in it that you were looking for. Meaning that if you're looking for the water pistol, that's what you'll find, and if you're looking for the TARDIS key, that's what you'll get. But since it's Time Lord technology, it's a little wonky, so the pocket did spit out the TARDIS key for House and Wilson, but it also spit out a bunch of other stuff ;).

Anyway, thanks for your detailed review! *off to answer your other comments*
