Beowulf, Jack/Ten
I went to see the Beowulf movie with my sister.
These were the most hilarious two hours ever.
There's this one scene where Beowulf wants to fight the monster, and because he wants to meet it as an equal, he takes off all his clothes. It's amazing how many ways there are to take frontal full body shots without showing the genitals.
Then there's the other scene where Beowulf meets the Demon of the Sea or whatever she was. She's this beautiful nymph-like lady who seduces all the kings and makes them give her sons, or something. Anyway, he goes into her cave, wielding this big-ass sword and wanting to kill her. Then she stuns him with her extraordinary beauty, walks up to him and - starts stroking his sword until it melts into white, gooey stuff.
Pretty much the whole movie is like that. It is highly amusing.
And I had an idea for a Ten/Jack fic. It's a nightmare to fit into the time line though. I think I've figured out a way, but I'm not sure if I'm not overlooking something completely obvious. Help me out?
Okay, the idea is basically that Jack is hot for the Doctor (Ten) because he's really curious about how it feels to fuck a Time Lord. So, he tries to get into Ten's pants and in the process falls madly in love with him. When they finally do get around to the sex part, though, Jack finds out that Ten's strengths apparently lie elsewhere. At this point, however, he doesn't care anymore.
Right. Now. Time line trouble is this: I wanna write about Ten, not Nine. However, when Jack meets Ten in Utopia, he already is madly in love with him. So that's not going to work. I need sometime earlier in Jack's life. So, I came up with this:
Jack meets Ten - post-LOTTL-Ten - sometime in the 1970s or something, while he's living his way through the 20th century after The Parting Of The Ways. Jack doesn't know Ten is the Doctor. Something happens that makes Jack distrust Ten, but then he finds out who he is. Their ways are going to part soon, so Jack figures this is his chance to fuck the Time Lord without any major emotional connection. So, courting ensues, and then the falling in love thing happens, etc etc.
This is going to screw with the time line only in so far that in Utopia, it seems very much that the Doctor and Jack haven't met while Jack was living through the 20th century. However, I'm explaining thisaway with this: In 1970, post-LOTTL-Ten knows that he and Jack are going to meet again in the future. So as not to screw with time, he doesn't tell Jack any specifics about that, but he does tell him that when they meet in the future, Jack mustn't say a word about their 1970s meeting, because Ten's self of that time won't know about the 1970s meeting with Jack yet. I'm backing this up with the fact that Jack immediately recognizes Ten when he meets him in Utopia blatantly ignoring the perfectly reasonable explanation about the police box Jack provides.
So, what do you think?
