I just watched RTD's Second Coming.

Without spoiling it--you guys should watch it. Especially if you've got a problem with the religious undertones in New Who, you should check it out. It does exactly what I think RTD is trying to do with New Who, but it's spelling it out, word for word. The directing/editing is a bit useless, or, you know, not my taste (if I were nasty I'd say it's very ITV), but the script is just amazing. Chris Eccleston is pretty good in it, but Lesley Sharp is actually even better. Anyway, I think it's very much worth watching, no matter if you're comparing it to New Who, or if you're watching it as a stand-alone.

Except if you're very religious. Then maybe you shouldn't watch it.

Oh, I adore Second Coming. It never fails to make me cry, either. Eccers is just stunning and I've always thought Lesley Sharp was a fantastic actress (I loved her in Afterlife as well...)

I saw her in Midnight (Doctor Who), and loved her performance. And I thought she did really, really well in this. Eccleston was his usual glary, snarky, slightly eccentric self, but it did work quite well for this part.
